    Football 10 Years From Now

Wonder what it will be like? Not the actual game of course but the structure of it.

There's been a lot of comments about FFP and imo the top of Europe's major leagues are pretty bloody boring these days with the same old, same old. The relegation scraps are always much more interesting.

We're relatively lucky in that, imo, we have 3 clubs who could realistically challenge for the domestic title. Chelsea and the Manchesters ( when Man Ure get their house in order again)). Sorry Arsenal & Liverpool fans but I don't see either as viable challengers. And whichever one of you misses out on next season's CL (one of you surely will) will already be at a massive disadvantage.

Spain have their big 2. Last season's champions Atletico also reached the CL final but were unable to hold on to Diego Costa and Felipe Luis. Add that to the fact that Courtois went back to his parent club, and one of their squad players, Aldeweireld, joined Southampton and it's dificult to see them challenging again.

Football will be played in the armchair on the PS22, internet competitions will explode as will youngsters weight.

As you say, it seems that most of the european leagues are dominated by 1 to 3 teams and the rest left to scrap over the pickings. I actually wonder if a super league is imminent, but then wonder how it would work cause all the revenue would then be concentrated mainly there.

Money feeds the game, but i feel in the end its going to destroy it. In the past support was more domestic, and like you have said, now with the young it seems its more success orientated regardless of boundries, so the richer the club the bigger the fan base.

My question is though, How many supporters outside the UK choose to support an English team when given the option of Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. Ok here in Finland we get a few Man Utd supporters Liverpool supporters, but even here their support isnt for just one team and those that choose to support Man Utd and Barcelona tend to have Barca

Whisky...The relegation scraps are more interesting, as you say...as long as you're not involved though!!

At the end of the long days till the ten year date it will/is still about money!!!1

If the heavy investors are there then the game will just evolve as it has since the Allison/Moore eras.

    Morning

I see a lot of comments along this line, and find myself in a minority of one in disagreeing with them.

Players played for the money back then too. That there was less of it washing around is plainly evident, but that doesn't alter the fact that motivation has always been financial.

Yes, wages were lower. But so were everyone's. A player needed a testimonial so he could buy his pub in Es*** to fund his retirement. But that was still an unachievable dream for most people.

But earnings were still high enough to fund fast cars and rich lifestyles.

So football stars were still stars - even in the 60s and 70s. They still went where the money was - even our own did that toward the ends of their careers. I don't bla

Aland, nice little Island that wants to be Swedish. Finns use it as a ship stop on the way to Sweden to get around duty free regs.

As for relegation battles, the Tevez year was exciting. Mind you only after i knew the outcome, Had to go commando many times for the latter half of the season
