Might be worth mentioning Jamie, that being a member guarantees your place on an away trip you want to go on and normally a reduced price.

Times must be changing. You'd never have found enough queens in Rawmarsh to fill two coaches in my day

On a serious note, the (unrequited) love of my life used to drink in The Queens 35 years ago. I wonder if she's still there and still as beautiful?

Can't be her as she was there feeding them 35 years ago and it was definitely not the same person. Maybe her daughter though

The Queens was the only pub in Rotherham which was happy to serve the EDL, after a recent demonstration. That does not automatically mean anyone organising coaches from there are connected to the EDL etc, but I would be more wary of booking seats on a coach linked to the pub.

I too have been thinking about getting a small coach (Approx. 25 seater)to go to every away match on the footing of a more up market, family oriented basis.

An atmosphere of mostly alcohol free relaxed, mature travel for the quieter people who like their newspapers, a good football chat or a topical debate. Perhaps, a brief bite to eat on the way home at a pre booked restaurant or quiet pub.
Any thoughts please? I will arranged everything but would appreciate 1 dedicated helper to help with bookings and logistics.

MODS..CAN YOU CREATE A NEW THREAD FOR THIS PLEASE. TITLE.. "ANOTHER AWAY COACH."
THIS REPLY LOOKS LIKE A PURE HIJACK JOB OF THE ORIGINAL POST AND THAT WAS NOT MY INTENTION. SORRY

The people running the coaches to away football games did speak to the landlord, committee and it's regulars about serving beer to the EDL and thought it was a great idea, think they even got offered free membership to away games

What a load of b0llocks. You obviously know nothing about the organisers of the away trips or the circumstances regarding the EDL march so I'm baffled as to why you might wish to make a detrimental comment.

The owner of the pub has nothing to do with the away coaches, only taking money over the bar from people meeting there.

The EDL lot who actually met up there one day were also the branch from Nottingham. Again, nothing to do with the clientele who frequent the away buses
