Gets a 5million pay rise
The British taxpayer funding for the queen has peaked at 36.1 million pounds (US$54.6 million), rising 5 million pounds from the previous year. The new Sovereign Grant replaces previous separate grants, rolling them into one large subsidy.
It will be used to maintain palaces as the country faces cuts.![]()

The Question is, does the Queen generate more than that via tourism to London? Almost certainly Yes!
I agree they do bring tourism Laz
I also think they are good value for money too
If we are to have a royal family we need to treat them properly
Also they give back far more than they recieve
Yes that's right as they give back to the country all profits from their land - which is a bloody lot more than the 40m they get now
If we took the money off them they would be forced to keep the yield from their land thus we the nation would have to fork out more taxes to cover the loss
Long Live The Quenn
Be proud of her and all who sail in her
Well said gaz, no doubt Alto will be enraged by your comments and will give us one of his infamous 'soap box' speeches![]()
