Payment for advert free site

Hi Guys, we are very aware of the latest issue on the footy Mad messageboards and you can rest assured that the editors of all sites are not happy with the situation.

Please note that you can still use the messageboards but will still have the adverts on them. We note that this has been a problem in recent months but hope all issues with that have now disappeared.

I have been in touch with HQ over the present situation and am advised that the new payments for ad free mb's is a necessary evil if we are going to continue to run the sites on the network.

There is a proposed meeting between editors, moderators etc this afternoon. Not sure if Ii will be privy to it but will keep you all informed.

Thanks old Ram, just seen the same notice in the back office and as it says we can pass this on to the messageboard users, here it is:

Following a large amount of feedback from our members the DSG board has agreed to suspend its policy of blocking members from accessing the forums whilst using ad blocking software. I am organising a conference call for later on with some of the network editors so that we can work together to find a mutually acceptable solution.

Everyone is in agreement that the network needs revenue to continue running and so hopefully we can find a method that is acceptable to all and ensures the future of the network.

Anyone wishing to contact me in advance of the meeting with their thoughts and ideas can mail me directly on [email protected]. I will try and answer everyone directly, but this will depend upon the volume of replies. Also please feel free to re-post this mail onto your forum.

What gets me is the point Rattea made the business logic is crazy.

1 You source and get revenue from advertisers.

2 You put the adverts on the webpage.

3 You then ask the posters to pay not to see the adverts. Bet the advertisers are 'over the moon'
