o/t Trial by media: Bill Cosby.

I listened to Radio 5 last night in which an alleged victim, raped by Cosby gave details of the events.

It was followed by an American journalist who interviewed Cosby last week who claimed Cosby smiled when asked about the allegations.

He said he thought Cosby's response was odd. The radio 5 presenter
followed this up by saying "yes very strange".

The whole tone of the show was that Cosby had done it.

Cosby might be an evil predator or he might be in the process of being fitted up...I have no idea either way of his guilt or innocence.

Surely though this kind of reporting is not right?

The media are overstepping the boundaries here in my opinion. The judicial process is falling apart.

    What do people think?

*Just to clarify I am not attacking or supporting Cosby...but focussing instead on the media involvement in alleged crimes.

I find the whole "trial by twittersphere" quite disturbing.

I'm no fan of our legal system due to it being focused on making legal teams rich, but it's a whole lot better than the mob antics of internet activists. It reminds me of the old black and white films of torch carrying mobs laying seige to Frankenstein's castle.

They're always at stuff like that on 5live, I listen to it most days, didn't here this though.

They like using the word 'historical' an awful lot when referring to *** crimes, I feel this because they want to make out it's all in the past and not still going on now. Are they protecting some people in high places I wonder?

Also whenever they interview someone who says something unexpected, they cut the interview if they can't make them out to be a nutcase. 'erm, err, we'll have to leave it there' then go onto something totally unrelated.
