Steve Evans out of his depth now ?

This season was always going to be tough but a lack of planning for this season is making it much more difficult than it had to be !

A failure to address our weaknesses from last season is now coming home to roost ?
One thing that was/ has been obvious is a distinct lack of speed and mobility in comparison to EVERY other team.

A couple of mobile defenders a goal scorer of some repute a flying winger and a boss man were top of the shopping list but instead SE has just appeared to collect as many players as possible ?

We now face a situation where we will bring more players in to replace the replacements eg Leedamar (Dutch cheese ) replaces Taylor who was a replacement for Hall a summer signing !
Things will not improve with this constant merry go round .?
This list tells its own story

    Scott Loach
    Matt Sadler
    Kirk Broadfoot
    Richard Wood
    Connor Newton
    Ryan Hall
    Fabian Brandy
    Jordan Bowery
    JCH
    Bechio
    Wordsworth
    John Swift
    Derby shire

Taylor .Richardson and Green have made some con

Not necessarily out of his depth but as I mentioned in another thread I think he has peaked.

His strengths and tactics suit the lower leagues perfectly but the Championship needs tactics with more guile and variation.

I still think he needs a decent coach working with him, not the "yes boss" Raynor type but a guy that's worked in this division before and knows the "tricks"

However I can't see SE welcoming such a man, as his ego wont allow it.

The problem is he hasn't changed his approach to meet the demands of Championship football. 'Bring in 10, hope 3 are successful, if not, repeat the process' worked in Leagues 1 and 2 because we had the resources and the core personnel to continue picking up points whilst in transition. It doesn't work in the Championship. Shuffling the pack every week, hoping to strike lucky is a policy doomed to failure. (But it does help if the team you send out have a game plan and understand their roles and responsibilities!).

For all you S/E lovers I should frame this.As you all know I am not his biggest fan but I actually feel sorry for him at this moment, forget his tactics he can only work with what he has got & with the money we spend its not good enough for this league. We are ford Vs BMW or Mercedes. We have got to up our tempo for sure but can we play high tempo for a full season I am not sure.I have said before we need a class old head someone that can run the game on the field one that can change the game when it's not going right.

Still early days. Fans of a club are always their worst critics but looking at your club from the outside, and seeing where you've come from in such a short time, I'd say anyone who's questioning Evans' future must be either dense or don't know owt about football.
You have a good un there, a very good un. You have to stick with him and trust him to sort it out, get rid now and you'll come to regret it very quickly.

Totally agree with you there fella, always a big knee jerk reaction from fans, we're punching above our weight in this division at the moment, we need to scrap and scrape through this season then kick on in my opinion, build from there.

I do agree with some of the comments you have made MILLERSTALE, but the fact is we had to do business like that purely because we don't have the funds.
look at it from a business eyes, we have only bought 2 players? the rest on free transfers but I totally agree with how everyone feels at the moment, that's why we have had to sell the naming rights for the ground now that's a spendable income to hopefully to go into the market and purchase correctly but I fell that may be next season.
I hope there is a full shake up for the Blackpool game and revs is on the bench, and the two new boys given a chance to mature into a good partnership.
Also Conner Newton is a good midfielder, young powerful and can score from outside the box which is what we are defo not doing enough.
    Just keep the faith.

We do have the players that can do well, it's just that Evans isn't using them constantly to get the best team on the pitch.

He's had enough time now, use his football head instead of his heart then we will get the winning/fighting spirit back.

If he can't then expect a backlash

there are some good points on the original post, I don't agree with them all but they are certainly well made. What gets me as you read the replies to the post people seem to think that anyone that criticizes the manager or questions him in anyway means we want him out, what a load of crap.
As fans of the club we are entitled to raise points like these and ones others have raised.
Evans is the right manager for Rotherham United, but he is making mistakes and some elements of his approach are questionable, lets focus on discussing the areas we are concerned with and not having a go at the postee for asking the questions

Correct Derbymiller but some fans live in the perfect world where they don't see anything wrong at all,its them that actually cause friction on here and in the stands.
Worst kind of fans you could come across.

No we are not saying get rid but if you think for one minute that if things get really bad and Mr Stewart won't do anything about it then you are deluded and should think of changing your support to Wendies.
