Everton favourites to land Spanish keeper.

Everton are the club most interested in Real Zaragoza's Spanish Under-21 goalkeeper Oscar Whalley who is available for 2million euros.

Goodison Park boss Roberto Martinez is a fan of the 20-year-old starlet and has sent scouts to watch Whalley in action for Zaragoza in the Spanish Segunda this season.

The Toffees have not submitted a bid yet but have already sounded out the player indirectly and have been told it would take a 2million down payment plus some add-ons to complete the deal in January.

Whalley, who has made 14 starts for Zaragoza this season, holds both UK and Spanish passports as his father is from England while his mother is from Mexico.

The FA attempted to persuade him to play for England but he chose the country of his birth and appeared for the Spanish Under-21 side against Belgium recently.
