" God rest ye merry gentlemen"
Absolutely, beautiful to be part of it. To give meaning to all this pain, greed
and violence.
Only the faithful will know what I am talking about and how it feels. Nothing can compare to it.
It's not too late to give yourself to Christ and to feel the power of these majestic words:
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
From God our Heavenly Father
A blessed Angel came;
And unto certain Shepherds
Brought tidings of the same:
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by Name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
And when they came to Bethlehem
Where our dear Saviour lay,
They found Him in a manger,
Where oxen feed on hay;
His Mother Mary kneeling down,
Unto the Lord did pray.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Personally, I wouldprefer something by Kathy Kirby
I will sing my first at Wigan on Saturday.
Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to see Rotherham win away

Disagree IBS as a former Christian I know the feeling well. Used to go to church with my Grandparents when I young and such a feeling, you never forget. No problem with a lot of teachings from Jesus some wise words especially these words: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Do have a lot of problems with the religion though, the biggest being the large amount of not very nice Christians I encounter. I don't care what you believe as long as you're a decent person, that's the main thing for me. I can't stand the be like or do this or you're going to Hell that some Christians do and some seem to take pleasure in telling people they're going to Hell, that's not very Christian. Do you believe in Hell IBS?
Right back to why I disagree, mediation can compare to it and better it, no religious beliefs required. The main thing you need to believe in is yourself.
new age hogwash
lol think Buddhists would disagree and you didn't answer the Hell question.
Of course I believe in hell. What a ridiculous question!
As for there being Christian who are not nice ...what do you expect? It's very naive to expect people to be "nice".
People are not nice Amanda. That's the whole point of the Saviour.
As for believing in yourself that is absolute nonsense.
How can a damaged person warped and corrupted by sin believe in themselves?
All people who believe in themselves do is move the goalposts and reason away their bad behaviour. We really shouldn't trust ourselves. We have no fixed moral centre. Only Christ can save.
It's not a ridiculous question as it's one of the big arguments Christians have, there's plenty of Christians that don't believe in Hell and for good reasons. For starters all the words that got translated to Hell don't mean Hell and not once in the whole bible is the phrase eternal torment used.
Thought you'd know about this, that's why I asked.
I went to a Nine Lessons and Carols Service at the Anglican Church in Carlsbad yesterday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Whatever you think of Christianity,(and I do more often than not, envy those who have a clearly determined faith)it does undoubtedly have the best stories and songs...
The occasion did also make me feel that those attending had lost less of the plot of what Christmas is supposed to be about. I found that quite reassuring in an odd sort of way...
Good for you, Idiot.
Some lovely words there too, far better than awesome, goddamn etc.
