Bit strange as a first post this Bell. Would have expected you to give your own views rather than those of a neutral

I took a workmate to his first match at the NYS. He is not from this area and knows little about the club.
After the match finished I asked him for his honest opinion about our team and performance.
He said if he did n't know where we sat in the table, he would have thought we were the team in form and Forest near the bottom as we outplayed them. He said we looked a well balanced side who played good football until we reached the oppositions 18 yard box, then looked a bit short of firepower.
Significantly he said Revs stood out as a weak link of the team. He highlighted his positioning and runs as predictable, him being weak for his physical size, lacking pace and his heading very inaccurate so difficult for other players to make supporting runs, as the ball can end up anywhere.
Revs has been the subject of so much debate on this forum and I have been a big fan, but maybe I have been a bit blinkered. Any thoughts about this neutrals view?

Revell is better with the ball at his feet than he is given credit for.
Our lack of a cutting edge applies to the whole squad at present.
We are generally too slow in the final third but we are improving. Our two best chances yesterday came from possession passing football as good as any in the division. The 'weak' link at present is that lack of confidence once the 20 yard point is reached. The players will draw inspiration from yesterday's performance.
I think we will get 6 or 7 points from the next 3 games on the evidence of the last 3.

By no means a Revell basher but I'd have taken him off after 20 minutes yesterday, he hardly got a kick.
On the contrary, I thought this was a useful first post and welcome BellBoy.Originally Posted by Deepmidwinter
Hearing what a neutral thinks about somebody who is pretty controversial among the fans of the club he plays for is a useful perspective. I think BB also uses this then to lead into his own point of view (which it would appear is beginning to change as a consequence of his workmate's comments.)
I tend to feel the same way. Revell might be more effective as an impact player in this league coming on when we need a change of route to goal.
Keep posting BellBoy!
