    Dropped
    Butler...enforced
    Whatmough... looked uncomfortable Friday
    Westcarr... strange,better dropping Taylor
Hollands... looked uncomfortable Friday(not even on bench)
    Holmes...did nothing Friday

    Very surprised Webster stays
Very surprised Ertl comes from being not even on the bench Friday to Skipper (correct selection though in my view)

Seems to me Andy's team selection is all over the place.

I haven't heard any reports but I am delighted with a point. As I said elsewhere I'd much rather they pick 11 who are prepared to give it a go, whoever they are, rather than some who aren't. 13 days before the next game of course, maybe a few ins and outs ?

totally agree there ldb,i followed it on news[pompey live],cracking point today,i was talking to a morecambe fan yesterday about league 2 and he seems to think the division is wide open and anyone can beat anyone and has been like that for a few seasons now, maybe he's right, anyway i feel an away win coming at newport on the10th,as i remember they win at pompey and we win there,PLAY UP POMPEY

Our season changed with that away win last season under Awfs and yes they won here earlier this season. They are very, very physical... I'll leave it at that... Happy New Year to all of you in Cumbria

Return from Luton with sanity unimpaired (LDB will be surprised to hear). Didn't expect to see Ertl leading out the team, but he played really well, as did Bean. A solid all round performance, we had spells in the first half where we were pretty dominant up until the final ball into the box. We need a sniffer of chances a la Biley/Whittingham...Tubbs? There seems to be nobody prepared to boss things and take responsibility when it comes to having a crack at goal. Lots of neat approach work but no final result. Great to see Dunne come on for the last ten minutes... he looked full of energy, also pleased to see some of the sub standard loanees have been sent packing ... all may not be lost yet this season... you heard it first from me on FF

Hey Kitey...you forgot to mention Ertls superb effort which took a wonder save to keep out.
Stick him up front,I am sure he would get some goals..sort of Roger Hunt style

    Sorry Scully, I had forgotten
    1) You are an Ertophile and founder of the JonnyE fan club and
    2) This is your thread
As I said he played well and with Bean and possibly Barcham was man of the match. His shot at goal would have been a candidate for goal of the season if the Luton goalie hadn't pulled off the save of the day. J.E. looked as proud as punch leading out the team with his head held high, so good on him.
As the News said 1021(slight exaggeration) fans singing " There is only one Jonny Ertl after the match"
Enjoyment was spoilt a bit by the limited unpleasant vocabulary of a few of the folk by us, but nevertheless grounds for optimism .

I reckon Ertl was brilliant today, and hope he stays in the team, but he probably wont.
