New to the Saints, the BPL and the board...

    Hello All:
I am new to the board and the Saints. Two season ago the BPL began broadcasting in the USA and I began watching. Not knowing which team to follow, I went to the family tree and found that part of my kin were from the area of Southampton.

It has been a wonderful ride and learning curve for the Saints and the BPL has been steep. I struggle to learn the players and understand what our style of play is compared to other teams. Any suggestions on what the best websites are for me to read about the team?

Being from SE Tennessee, American College Football is the sport where I live and soccer has a small following. If I ask questions that have obvious answers, be gentle with me... With that said, my knowledge of soccer is limited. Any help, encouragement, or knowledge you may offer will gladly be accepted. Otherwise, when it is game day, pre-game, raise a pint to me as I will have mine while watching if the game is broadcast.

    Thanks...

Ha ha ... yes , welcome aboard Saint.

Do you live near Memphis ? Would love to go there one day.

Saints are on tv tomorrow evening, FA Cup 3rd round replay v Ipswich Town, BBC1 , 7-30pm GMT.
Also on Saturday, SKY 1, 5-30pm v Newcastle United, Premier League. We're on tv many times in the next couple of months. We're the flavour of the month it seems.

Saints style of play is to try to win every game by attacking at every opportunity, through the centre or down the flanks, whenever possible and defend well, as a team with organisation and determination. The midfield works so hard to support both attack and defense and we have some very good players. We like to give the young players as much experience as possible.

Feel free to ask whatever questions you like !

Memphis is a 3.5 hour drive from my home. I live in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. If you follow the Alabama/Georgia state line to where it intersects with the Tennessee line, that is where I live. It is a very rural area about 25 minutes west of Chattanooga.

As for Memphis, my son is in college there and loves the town. The BBQ is good and there are many things to do.

Wow, how exciting, do we have a "sleeper" spy in our forum group. What info do you thinks she's collecting and for who?

    Semper medius?

    Must do better Simon.

Not sure what the Latin is for "about to drop in to the conference" but back atcha, simpleton.

Maybe Thanets finest is on a field trip in the North West for his "PhD"!
