As I understand it, if the winner of a national cup competition has already qualifed for the UCL, then the Europa Cup place that would have been awarded no longer goes to the Cup runners up, it goes to the next highest placed side in the league.

...should Chelsea win the league & one or two of the other cups.
So what happens with the English spots in the Europa/CL should Chelsea continue thier run, anyone have a clue?

The FA Cup and League Cup are different. If Chelsea win the League Cup then next Europa spot goes to the Prem. Nothing for runners up. But as in the FA Cup last season, Arsenal beat Hull and Hull got the Europa League spot (and then exited straight away).
If Chelsea beat Man City in the FA Cup Final then next spot in Prem gets the place.

Fair enough Papa, looks like Hull were the last to benefit from the old rule.
