    Betting apps

    Having avoided them for a while now & getting done in by Ray Winstone's cringeworthy ads on telly, I have finally downloaded the Betfair app and joined the "in-play" revolution. What sold it to me? well a few of us were watching Saints up at Ippo a few weeks back and the others all had their phones out with their choice of bets on show. It was great every time an attack was forming watching fingers hovering over the "cash out" option, added a bit more fun to a lacklustre game.

    Anyone else get involved with this? If so what's your app of choice and are there any strategies you want to share? I'm looking at you, Pukks.

    No.1 Never bet on Saints, it's too much for the ticker

    No.2 Go "off piste", check out the far flung leagues and bet on goals per game, no big wins but you'll get more of them, this also applies to youth games.

    If you're a facebook user there are several pages to follow for obscure in play bets.

    In reality i still have to work so take my approach with a pinch of salt...

    I learnt long ago never to bet on football, just too many random factors. Just golf and horses for me. I'm somewhat concerned though that your mates think that supporting your team now involves standing there with your finger hovering over the 'cash out' button. I'm sure the players must get quite a lift from that level of support.

    It's almost worth loading up all the apps and taking the free offers. See what winnings you can make on those, then close down the ones you don't find user friendly. I keep a few so I can cherry pick the best prices, particularly handy every Monday when the first golf markets go up.

    I don't really bet so I can't help you.

    Can't understand blokes at the football watching their phones (for any reason tbf), aren't they supposed to be there to watch a game?

    How the bloody hell would you know? The last time you went to a game was probably before mobile phones even existed, let alone apps.

    Only a couple of months actually. So you'd rather watch your phone than the football? Why pay for a ticket in that case?

    I was only saying the other day when an advert for one of these betting sites came on that I just can't believe how many there are. Is it just me (and Pents) that never gambles, each to their own and all that but I can't think of anything much worse.

    Your words, not mine. Keep making things up as you go along, Tarquin. Why break the habit?

    These are also your words not mine...nothing made up here.

    [quote="Brockley_Jack" option, [/quote]

    So every time there's an attack, you're watching other people on their phones??? What's wrong with you Jack?
