OT Box sets you've watched recently

I've got a mountain of box sets to get through now that Father Christmas has been.

I finished the first series of Breaking Bad this afternoon. I wouldn't say it's the best ever like some people are saying but it is brilliant.

I'm three episodes into Dexter, which I'm struggling to get the hang of to be honest. Hopefully it's a grower.

Shameful admission but despite the other two being all the rage, the best of the bunch might well be Last Tango in Halifax. It's also partly filmed in Bolton (mainly Bolton School) which is a bonus.

Did 'Cracker' recently - dated but still superb
    Band of Brothers (again!!)
Dexter - Mrs JJ watched it from the start - I did the whole lot over about a week - it takes time to get into it danm but worth it in the end
Blackadder - cr@p first series but got so much better

Apart from Dexter I've not found anything recent that's really gripped me

Takes a lot of time investment to do a box set, took me 8 months to do the first 3 series of The Walking Dead, it was ok but not really my bag, I have Boardwalk Empire to do and a British one called Messiah, watched the first one and it was excellent

If it's the Messiah with Ken Stott lord, it's a corker.

Like JJ said stick with Dexter and you will definitely get hooked and start rattling off the episodes. Caught up with the Walking Dead which is definitely my beef but like LH Mrs G wasn't overly impressed. Hannibal is wild and did the two seasons and would recommend.

Just started watching Ripper Street as recommended by several people and certainly found the first couple of episodes good.

Loved Dexter a great series. I've watched tons of box sets cos the TV is mostly reality ****e and apart from I'm a celeb the rest I can't stand. There is only one series that I have tried to watch and can't get into, Madmen too slow and all about nowt.
