Has AA at last found a settled team and the right way to play with that team ?

On Football Focus it was suggested that if a manager ( Van Gaal ) hasn't found his best team by the half - way stage of the season he has a serious problem .

Has AA got in right ? Results suggest yes .

Just as couple of defeats doesn't make a Manager a muppet, so a couple of away wins, no matter the scoreline, doesn't make a Manager a candidate for the England job come the next vacancy.

Let's get this in proportion: Pompey played well and got an early goal which boosted their confidence, found their passing boots, shooting boots and togetherness pills all on the same day. Cambridge, on the other hand, are suffering from a severe bout of loss of form and confidence as their position @ the BOTTOM of the Division's Form guide shows.

The real test will be against Tranmere who have a decent if unspectacular away record and keep a tight ship; they are not suffering a loss of confidence and can be guaranteed to give us a stern test. Underestimate them @ your peril, Pompey!
