    For the 42

    Over from AbMad in peace!

Please have a read of the following link. (I've insufficient posts to put into link box.)

If you feel as strongly about this as the blog poster, please spread the word across social media and Scottish Football circles. On oor forum, we reckon 'For the 42' sums it up nicely.

With the exception of the ugly sisters, we're trying to keep this non-partisan and the eventual hope is that we can influence or embarrass the folk in power to begin some real change.

BTW, rooting for guys to stay up!

    Cheers

There's not anything to disagree with in the article but we need some concrete proposals to back up the sentiment.

One of the reasons Motherwell struggle to get any sort of local support is because we are so close to the Bigot Brothers, so you will find plenty like minded people among us. It is soul destroying when ever we play one of them in the cup, and we see buses with flags saying Motherwell branch of Celtic / Rangers supporters. As JWOK says though unless there is something "Practical" we can do, then we will never change anything. It is good to see everyone showing people outside Scotland, that we are not all members of the sectarian divide. The problem is that none of it is reported outside Scotland. As for the sectarian singing at the Glasgow derby, NOTHING will happen inside Scotland. When FIFA start to ban clubs for racial / sectarian behaviour, perhaps (Just PERHAPS) something might be done.

If only someone at the SFA/SPL would read articles like this and comment on them, but I don't hold out much hope.
There is no one at either of these organisations with the balls or integrity to punish either of these clubs or supporters when rules are broken.

I also agree with Stan Collymore on his statement regarding banning of Sevco from televised games for their supporters chanting and singing, but I would also apply this to the other side of the divide, as I'm fed up hearing sectarian songs whilst watching a game on TV.

One of the reasons I've stopped buying Scottish newspapers is the amount of pages devoted to the Celtic and Sevco clubs on the sport pages, ignoring the rest of football and Scottish sport in general

In my opinion Rangers have the biggest sectarian problem because they are the ones who sing anti catholic songs and have ties back to fascists gangs of the 30's when they sing Billy Boys.

It would be great If we could get rid of both of them to be honest, I believe that football would do just fine in this country if that happened, more competitive and exciting and less trouble...all a dream obviously.
As for the singing nonsense, both are as bitter and horrid as each other. It is not only singing about Irish Independence, if any one believes that romantic notion they are deluded, they are singing about a terrorist organisation that has slaughtered not only British soldiers INCLUDING Scottish soldiers, but women and children, both catholic and protestant for nearly 100 years. Both are one and the same.
Not as if they turn up at fir park singing 'Danny Boy' and 'its a long way to Tipperarry'.
No one has the balls to deal with either of them, not when the Celtic CEO is part of the leadership of the game, only in Scotland would this be aloud.
The singing last night was shocking, but predictable. They make enough excuses and blame each other as it is without Motherwell fans

Would be great to get rid of them, but we are stuck with them I'm afraid. How good would it be to start a season thinking your team had a wee a chance of winning the league. All we read in the papers right now is how we need rangers back in the top flight for the good of Scottish football, I can see where they are coming from when they say that, but if they and they're fans went to England I wouldn't lose to much sleep over it.

Woody have a word with yourself...wanting an independent Scotland maybe but would you be prepared to commit murder and attrocities to achieve that. Once you start to justify one half of the bogoted twins over the other your half way there to being a supporter. No place in a civilised society for the nonsense that pair pedal.
