No excuses can be made whatsoever for certain players this season, however I don't think I have ever known a club to have such a season with injuries, we must be averaging 6/7 out at anyone time all year. Where are they training Syria?
No matter who the manager is, being unable to play the same 11 in consecutive games must **** you off.
Either the footballing gods are working it right up us for having a relatively scarce injury list last few years, or we are training with cannon balls...
Either way, it hasn't helped our rank rotten season. Although I wish a couple of the present first team would join that injury list...permanently.

Looking back at our 4-5 years of top performance the key difference was stability in the starting 11. I remember thinking how fortunate we were to have so few injuries. I put it down to John Porteous, who left the club and then, well, we know the rest.
You are right, a small squad with injuries to key players has hurt us and even injuries to 5hit players is a waste of a wage. I'd say Hammell has been a huge loss.
I think we should put this into context once and for all. John Porteous may have been a good physio but on these boards (including Steelmen Online) he is often portrayed as if he had miracle healing powers. I think there should be perspective in what a physio can actually do.
Indeed and we still had 12 operations last year, according to the accounts.
We've been unlucky this season for sure. Would we be miles better off with a fully fit squad? Probably not. Would we be a few, perhaps crucial, points better off? Probably.
