    Is Colclough brain dead?

Disciplined for turning up late on Monday.

    What a pillock!!!

Shelf stacking at Aldi beckons if he's not careful.

Unbelievable. On Saturday I was questioning my harshness in suggesting we should release him in May.

    And then this. :/

Did it need to make the press?

Is that good management of him?...

Bit of a knee jerk reaction in my opinion - and an indictment of a society where the minutiae of people's lives are put in the public domain for no real purpose other than to fill column inches.

I can only presume that none of the other contributors on this thread have ever been late for anything. And that they're all completely aware of the circu mstances which led Ryan C to be late. We don't know who else is/has been late or how often, do we?

He was late, he's been disciplined, move on.

Seems to be a lot of 'give a dog a bad' (as my grandma used to say!) where this lad is concerned.

Did n't see yours before I posted mine.

The answer to the first question is no - unless they want to put a list on the website of all player misdemeanours and what the punishments have been, I doubt they do. The answer to the second is I don't know - might have a better idea if I heard the interview and the context, I doubt it's been put in the public domain maliciously - maybe it's to try and keep his feet on the ground, SD must know him, know how he ticks.

Got the bit between my teeth on this one now...

Was n't the biggest and blondest of our big, blonde centre backs late for a match earlier this season or last, and ended up starting on the bench as a result?

The Radio Stoke commentary team did n't make it to Leyton Orient until half time on Saturday for the Vale game.It did n't stop that Ray summariser bloke confidently asserting that Vale were the better team in the first half, mind.

I wonder if McGarry has disciplined them?

Bit harsh suggesting that someone is 'brain dead' based on them turning up late to training once. I was late to work one day last week and would hope that I am not brain dead (I'm managing to type this post all on my own anyway). If it does become / is a persistent thing then that is a different issue altogether.

In response to the comment about renewing his contract; of course we should be doing that. He is quite clearly one of our best talents at the club and we would be foolish not to be offering him a new deal. Controversy or no controversy, he has the potential to go a long way.

To interpret my comments as being based on "turning up late for training once" suggests you don't know much about Colcloughs recent history.

From his perspective, having been out injured for over 16 months and (presumably) wanting to earn another contract at the end of this season, perhaps he should be leading the training, not being late for it. He has 7 games to go and has less than 6 weeks to secure a new deal. Ball's very firmly in his court.

From the clubs angle, they have supported him through 2 court cases, both financially and legally, as well as paying his wages for 16 months of inactivity. This support went a long way towards ensuring he didn't get a suspended sentance for the 2nd offence. I just think they could expect a bit more from the player. He left Bramall Lane well before all the other players departed an
