I usually mainly just play them with my niece and nephew and young cousins these days - my faves are Monopoly, Cluedo, and Scrabble.

Dazzy, I've got a vision of you armed with a rule book, a dictionary for Junior Scrabble and showing J absolutely no leniency despite him being just 7 years of age!

I think I've said before - Monopoly always caused rows between myself and my older brother when we were kids. My older brother a stickler for the rules and my younger brother (through necessity, being a fair bit younger than either of us) a major cheat. I used feel sorry for him and would sneak him Monopoly money under the table as he'd always run out. When I'd get caught out, my older brother would go mad at me, then my younger brother would start crying, which brought mum in. This generally resulted in Monopoly board being confiscated til further notice!

My son loves Monopoly. When things are going his way. Has been known to storm off when he has to mortgage his properties and his empire comes crashing down. We put all fines/ taxes ect in the middle to be scooped up on landing on free parking.

My favorite games were trouble, mastermind, Mouse trap, scrabble and pick up sticks.

Winnie,Winnie,Winnie.. you have painted me in this really ultra competitive light here and to be quite frank you are so... right

once he turned 7 I told him don't expect to always win now son

The mad thing is when we play fifa on the playstation he can actually beat me and he makes me watch his goals over and over and I can tell you this that makes me angry and I've been known to have a strop and end up getting a telling off my Lass

I stopped playing them because my wife is so freaking brilliant at them and lucky. If she needs a 3 she row a 3, if she needs a 12 she rolls a 12.
