heard rumours (and admittedly that's all they are) that Erwin is to go to Leeds. If he does go, we should be entitled to 9 years x £60k which is £540,000. If true, do you think this is good value for him?

Good deal.
If he had one-year left on his contract, would you back us to negotiate more than half a million?
Absolutely. And he did have an indifferent spell for long parts of the season. One more season would do him good but if he goes, at least we'll be compensated for once
The fee definitely softens the blow of losing him, wouldn't see us being able to negotiate a higher fee for him if he was under contract. This season Erwin has certainly impressed at times but he has been very inconsistent at many times in the season, although who hasn't this season? I do worry that if this move does materialise it will be too big a jump too soon.
To get half a million based on half a season is good value.
Remember, McCall would not play him and would select other players (including bob!) before Erwin. So, he has been lucky that a change of manager has shown his potential and provided the opportunity.
To get more, you have to have at least a full season or two and be more of a finished article. Erwin is very much trading on potential (which is there to be tapped).
No idea what this means but read today fee might be 600k as Leeds classed as a category 1 club and they have to pay more sounds crap but thats what The Sun said this morning
We also get an obligatory sell-on fee (which I think lasts throughout his career) which is potentially a wee bonus.
Tbh I'm not convinced Erwin wouldn't benefit from another season with us. His injuries mean that though no longer a kid, he's still not played even one full year of top flight football. I appreciate the money at Leeds will be substantial but being stuck on the bench and freed after two years could be a costly long-term move.
Wouldnt be costly to his bank balance and thats what counts. Could stay with us get injured and make hee haw out the game , they've got to take the money when they get the chance , we all would. Good luck to him..Originally Posted by Handsome_Devil
Meant he'll make more money over several years rather than just two if he leaves us an established player and starts at Leeds/wherever rather than living in the reserves...but ofc some risk too.
