    Relegation Battle Next Year?

I placed a bet this time last year we'd get relegated with labrokes at 80-1.. time for this years considerations.

Im almost certain Hamilton will go straight down and I have us , Killie and Ross County again for play off fight. (Ross County have done a houdini act two seasons on the stoat now so think they must me in with a shout.) Dundee Utd are my wild card from the "unexpecteds" to be in bother.

You could also throw Partick into the mix. I agree that Accies will be in the mix.

As for us, its too early to tell - a lot will depend on our summer transfer market dealings and right now thats a big unknown.

Of the other sides, I would expect Inverness to slip a bit, but Dundee might consolidate their position.

I agree with accies hope they go down as lost me a ton this year as I only bet handicap league and had aberdeen at 9 to 1 plus 24 and accies pipped them last game of season as plus 48 this year I will bet Motherwell hopefully plus 48 as I don't see us being as low next season we've had a fright and think next season we will be fighting for top 6 spot might not get it but imo will be there or there abouts

So many 'ifs' and 'buts', though I think we'll be at least OK. We've only lost to Aberdeen and Celtic at Fir Park this year; if our signings work out, and if IB continues to show the tactical nous which did for Rangers, we'll have some good days. Two or three wins where last season we could only draw would make a massive difference.
I agree that Accies could struggle, and I wonder how long County can go on buying a new team for their Christmas. Partick and Killie will need a good start - then again, so will we!

How can we judge anything on next season. It will be a virtually entirely different team.

Thats why you get odds of 80 / 90 / 100s to 1 , if you wait until the action starts the odds plummet. We could sign 8 / 9 players and the odds eont move much as we and others could sign utter sh1te but unyil thry kick a ball all bets will have eild dard elements.

On the other hand if Ross County maintain even a fraction of their form since February, they'll be nowhere near bother.

Too early to be sure with us but while I think Bara has earned his chance, I'm still far from convinced he'll be good enough long-term. We'll see.

Killie are certainly needing a shake up but anyone in the bottom six could easily fall into bother. United have enough youths coming through that once they settle again they won't be down the bottom, even if not at their previous heights.

I'm Certainly not making a forecast as I said we would be nowhere near the bottom two places last season. As long as we don't go through what we did last season that will do for me. Would anyone take a second bottom finish to keep the Rangers down again?

Look at what happened to Hibs last season and us this one and you've got to come to the conclusion that apart from Celtic and probably Aberdeen, then any one of the others could be in trouble. ICT are beginning to be picked apart, The Arabs have been atrocious since the turn of the year and Dundee now face the tricky second year. They might look solid just now but our league has so many teams of a sameness that all it needs is a bad start and its suddenly panic stations.
We can't have such a bad season again, hopefully. I'd settle for mid-table just as long as it's not that rudderless and inept excuse for football that we saw at times last season.

I certainly wouldn't volunteer for it, this campaign was a complete and utter misery. Even in the Malpas season, we were actually good enough to be effectively safe before downing tools after the cup quarter-final loss and getting a late fright.

Top eight and - praise be - a cup run worthy of the should be the goal for me.
