Thread: New kit for next season?

    New kit for next season?

Any clues as to when our new 2015-16 kit will be revealed? There have been rumours that our 70s claret sash kit will be making a one off return next season. I saw a fan mock up online which looked pretty smart. Has anyone heard anything?

Frankly, I hope not. Apart from some nice memories when we got into the habit of beating Celtic away in the 70s wearing it, I can't understand why the club are so reluctant to play in the traditional jersey, with a real hoop instead of the silly advertising band.

We have a unique jersey which could be such a strong brand but so often choose pretty grotty designs. Boca Juniors seem to think a hoop is good enough for them so why not us?

    And white shorts.

    And wee numbers (negotiable).

    Sigh.

As long as the awful white numbering on an amber background goes - completely unreadable from a distance.

Maybe a new logo with 91 for our cup win and an upside down 9 (6)1 for our humping of Rangers!

If we had virtually the same kit every season, fewer people would buy it.

Tbh I gave up really caring about our kit years ago, so long it's claret and amber I'm fine with it. If there's a hoop so much the better but not worth worrying about.

The 60s 125th retro top (the one with the old MFC monogram badge) should have been our home top a few years ago and I wouldn’t say no to that one making a reappearance.

Amen to that. I think that was the plan but there was a last minute change. We wore it against Everton.

You can make changes to the basic design for the next season to stimulate sales without producing shockers like the jester's outfit of the mid 90s.

Anyhow, I hope Bara gets a squad together to be worthy of the jersey, whatever it is.

Bought my season today and raring to go.

Anything but a Well strip with white shorts. All our strips with shorts look utterly honking.

I've got no strong view on hoop v 'advertising' band but I am very opposed to the white shorts.

I know everyone has their view and everyone's taste is different but for me, unless it's 100% retro look we're going for, white shorts just look wrong with the claret and amber top and socks.

Remember the miscellaneous mess of 2013-14?

Mind you, can't disagree with WeeAlpha on getting a team put together who is worthy of wearing our strip, regardless of what colour the shorts.

Yes, hate the white shorts. I know some people like them but I think they look totally mis matched compared to the rest of the strip.

Sorry to disagree ( I'm not really ), but I really prefer the white shorts... and the traditional hoop!
