    Channel 4 racing

Just been on the racing post sight, saying viewing figures are over 3 million down for Royal Ascot for the week compared to the BBC. Part of this is due to the fact that some people still will not go past channel 3.

Racing Post are pushing Matt Chapman to front the show. I'd go with that. He'd take Clare Balding place, she only wants to do Cheltenham & Ascot + she's on everything, won't miss her. That Graham Cunningham guy, where's he come from, know Racing UK, send him back there. Get AP Mcoy in his place. Tanya & that Irish bloke doing betting that's fine.

Could do with a guest tipster, give this person [ could be a menber of the public ] a month if he comes up with the goods, give him the gig, give him a year, your not going to tip winners all the time, unless its Kempo's retro' tips. I'd love a go at it, If I was watching racing all the time I'm sure I could make a profit over a year.

Also Racing UK were running a free pass for Royal Ascot, why if you like horse racing would you ever watch BBC/C4 over Racing UK coverage. No pap interludes about hats, gowns and dresses - just racing from Thirsk and Ripon. I subscribe to RUK but the free pass for non subscribers was blinding. I like Matt Chapman, he has an enthusiasm for the sport not matched by many others but I am not sure I would want to see him front C4 as it may dim him down but its gotta be better than the rich kid Nick Luck. And Graham Cunningham is just Andy Warrington not very well disguised.

Well they have only had 33 years to get used to the fact that Channel 4 exists.

In the US after big races they have a TV presenter on horseback doing interviews as they accompany the winning horse/jockey back off the course into the paddock. Would like to see John McCririck doing that :-)

    PS It's site not sight.

Sorry its site. Agree you can get rid of Lord Snooty, Nick Luck, he's another from on Racing UK. I've got Sky not going to pay for Racing UK.

Cunningham does look like Andy Warrington. What's his background in racing. He's got a good face for radio.

What I meant was it was FREE for the entirety of Royal Ascot, Everyone I know who likes racing deserted channel 4 as if you haven't got sky you could watch it on your tablet/pc. I don't know anyone who has signed up properly at the end of it.

They tried the trotting back with the winner at a few events, but most of the presenters are not horse men/women they are sports writers / journalists / failed bookies / old. I think Alice Plunkett had a go but she has an ass as big as Frankels and I do remember Emma Spencer or whatever she is called these days having a go.

Shes another one Emma Spencer, how does she manage to get through a whole show without moving her lips and where on earth is her puppet ? - Oh I forgot he is normally riding in the 2.30 !

And Tanya Stevenson - went from "alright" to dog ugly since the changeover in production team.

Tanya Stevenson is a natural, knows her stuff. Can put up with Emma Spencer, she tries. Alice P see her in the winter, good broadcaster.

Men's the problem, Jim M apart needs shaking up. When they used to have Big Mac, The Greatest Jockey , Jonny Franks, they were fun, Alister Dowd was the racing guru. Need Matt Chapman fronting it, with AP on board. Defo' get rid of Clare Balding, Nick Luck & Graham Cunningham.
