    New keeper required?

Goalie George Long has been ordered to pre season training by his parent club Sheffield United, with the Ross Stewart having signed with Albion Rovers we will require to get a keeper in as a priority anyone any suggestions as to who we should try and bring in?

Marian Kello, who was with St Mirren last season always struck me as a decent keeper. A free agent also.

The fact that George Long has been ordered to do pre season training with Sheffield United means just that no more and no less. In the event we don't manage to secure his services again we'll probably go for another unknown.

I agree if we don't get Long I'm sure we will get someone none of us have ever heard off

We also need a goal keeping coach. I wonder what big Sieb is up to these days. He could coach our keepers to come for cross balls.

To my knowledge posts on this very forum as sieb1886 ... ask hm !!
Personally I would have went for Mark Brown (Ross County) before he signed Dumbarton earlier this month.

Kello was a good a wee while ago, has faded since. Mark Brown was hard done by during the admin years but wouldn't have been the answer now.

Happy enough for us to look for someone new and no doubt unheard of...fingers crossed the change of manager at Sheffield United stops Long coming back.

The thing is you can get a good goalkeeper well into his 30s now just look at Cech going to Arsenal 33 for 10 mill or so.

Tons of choices to be had maybe time to break to mould and get experience rather than an on loan for a year.
