How do you borrow 1.5 billion euros not pay it back and ask for more?

Not sure Brin but I'd start by asking the top brass in the banking world ?. They will have a much better idea.

Not so. They are celebrating because they know that if they are to be in the brown stuff, then they will be in it on their terms, not Germany's or the the EU's or the politicians in Brussels or the bankers.

This is real democracy at work. The ordinary Greek did not create the economic conditions that the country is now facing, it was the EU, the bank and the government of the day who fiddled the books to make it look as though they were fiscally sound enough to join the EU in the first place.

Now the kack has hit the fan, the guilty ones expect the ordinary working folk to pay for it. They had already raided their bank accounts and stripped their pensions a few years ago. The Greek people are argueing to take control over their own destiny, it may get worse before it gets better, but I admire their courage.

Unlike the UK where we roll over to be shafted and take

Much is made of the Greek debt but we're no better comparatively. Ours is now £1.56 trillion, compared to £535 billion 8 years ago, and growing at over £5000 a second. Only difference is we don't have banks and other institutions camped on our doorstep because we've missed repayment deadlines.

What it matter?? When a country borrows money, that money is created by simply typing numbers on a screen. When it's paid back the money is then deleted as quick as it was created - minus interest of course. It's all a con anyway.
