Second half substitutions maybe said good first team but squad a worry, and CB especially, but job done and new achievements keep being set by Saints. .

a very satisfactory curtain raiser to the competitive season. Sell out crowd, a decent game. I thought Big Vic was MOM particularly for his performance in the first half. At 2-0 Saints were comfortable and should have gone on the close the game early second half. The emphasis changed when Claise went off. Very important save at 2-0 from Stekelenburg. Third goal was a bit of a mess but handy and they all count.
Good to see some of the usual suspects at the watering hole pre match. Shotts, Papa, Wheels, Kernow, Chief Joffy snr and junior. No sign of Pents ?
On another topic why do they have to make this site so flaming awkward. A complete pain in the anatomy to get on now.

Didn't really think Vitesse had much about them and agree that Vic played well, think he'll relish the challenge now that Morgan has gone. The Dutch were in good form up the top end of town. Noticed the colours of their away kit (maroon and light blue) and EightAce and I got chatting to a few of them and it turns out that that particular away kit was a tribute to 6th Airbourne Div., the Dutch chaps certainly appreciated our forces efforts and held them in high esteem. The back of the kit was emblazoned with the legend 'No bridge too far' which was kind of humbling tbf.

Sorry I didn't make the pub gents, by the time we got EightAce's ticket, it would've been a forlorn effort to make it up to the WF. I'll be there for the next Europa game though.

Great result, exactly the way to win a home leg, I'd be amazed if we didn't qualify now.....

I see the skates have a thread about us....must be awful for them.

Enjoyed the match and pre-match, apart from the usual venue being closed and the long queues for service, entry to the stadium and comfort/relief visits.

The team played well as a whole, not many individual errors, kept good shape and possession with some great individual performances from the new signings and the existing squad players. Mane was my mom. There's always a great sense of anticipation of something different and exciting when he gets the ball. Will enjoy watching him in a Saints shirt before the inevitable happens.

Good performance but improvement needed if we're to progress on all fronts.
