    The Ashes, First Test

All set for the first encounter in Cardiff tomorrow, will we fall flat on our faces or give them Aussies a good pasting ?

    re: The Ashes, First Test

I make the Aussies favourites for the Ashes but I don't think anyone is going to get a pasting in this series.

I hope that we carry on with the aggressive cricket that we've seen in the last series against New Zealand (one day as well) and we don't go for that safe reactionary cricket.

Cook needs to carry on his form.
Bell needs to remember which way up to hold the bat.
Stokes just needs a bit more luck when bowling but needs to carry on attacking when batting.
Jimmy needs to get back to his best with the ball.
Broad needs to bat longer than he has been doing of late.

I'm looking forward to it, and I do think that we can win the little Urn back.

    Come On England.

Very poor start with 43 for 4, came good in the end with 430 all out.

Game on as this second day finish's with the Sheilas on 264 for 5.

We should win this now, although the Aussies have plenty of batters.

The pitch is a bowlers pitch now though and Ali should get a lot of joy tomorrow.

Michael Vaughan said that it's 1-0 to England and I think that he knows what he's talking about.

When Broad is on it, he's one of the best devastating bowlers in the world.

    Great win.
