Hampshire's away cup game in Cardiff yesterday was abandoned due to the pitch being deemed "dangerous". I saw Carbs and Adams both hit as the ball reared up nastily. An investigation job for the pitch inspector sadly
For the seventh year on the trot Hampshire have qualified from the leagues for the T20 bash quarter finals. Following two wins by 4 and 6 runs respectively, and with the worst run rate of the eight qualifiers, we find ourselves away to Worcestershire @ New Road who have about the best run rate of all the counties.
Looks like no contest, Worcs should larrap us. But I seem to remember we had a similar situation some years ago when we had to go to Edgbaston and play against a highly fancied team of Bears, which, of course, we won to make Finals day.
Will history repeat itself? We seem to have discovered another great Leggie in young 18yr old Mason Crane; perhaps our batsmen can bestir themselves and find an inch of form from somewhere, then we might stand a chance. After all, our home form has been wretched.

i was watching that yesterday, never seen anything like it,that was dangerous,in glamorgans innings hampshire spinners turning it a mile and it got worse in 2nd innings, test match there not long ago, hampshire imo should have 2pts and 2 taken off glamorgan, not 1 each,
Went to watch hants today, appalling!
Daz, no points decision re the abandoned game has yet been taken. I believe there will be an announcement next week. Hants 2nds match in Kent was abandoned for the same reason. Not a good time for groundsmen as PfcinCov would confirm.
thanks for that ldb,i was looking at table and saw 1pt each, which i thought unfair, not doing themselves any favours to qualify for Q/F's very inconsistant as they were inT20 and relegation in 4day game looks a certainty, never mind the boys are back saturday,PLAY UP POMPEY
Back Saturday for sure Daz. in front of a big FP crowd...New manager, many new faces and refurbished bogs ....What more can we ask for ? Oh 3 points would be lovely for starters
Not only did Hants get a much needed win against Warwick today in the County Championship, they have been awarded the points following the Cardiff debacle...I blame Lassie for anything Glamorgan related.. .....
