    re: Barrow.

Howie- I wonder what we can read into this. At the moment, we have Rhodes, Brown, Koita, Delfouneso and a bagful of youngsters - all strikers. Yet we bring another one in on a three-months loan.
Presumably, he has been signed to play; otherwise, there seems very little point. Does this mean GB expects Rhodes to go? Alternatively, has he decided the two new ones and our Under-21s are not yet ready for regular action? On top of all that, where does this place Brown?
I would have thought an attacking midfielder was more of a priority.
Another odd thing is, Transfermarkt lists him as predominantly a right winger, despite the fact that all the reports describe him as a "striker".
    I'm a bit puzzled.

Sorry - I meant to add: if he is going to play on the right wing, where is Marshall going to fit in? The experiment of playing him behind Rhodes didn't seem to work at all.

I believe he plays more on the right wing he certainly did against us
I think this will allow Marshall to continue behind Rhodes hopefully as stated with greater improvement.

    re: Barrow.

But you'd think that position was reserved for Koita if he is going to play - and/or Delfouneso, come to that. And as I said, is Brown now completely out of the picture?
Our own youngsters also get pushed further down the pecking-order.
I'm not really complaining. I accept that Barrow is probably a class above most of our squad. But it does mean we have a lot of home-bred players who can't get a look-in.

    re: Barrow.

Barrow only signed on a 3 month loan contract. This could be because Gary Bowyer wants a few additional options with Jordan Rhodes now said to be interesting Sunderland.
The only good thing about the embargo is that we cant accept any unwanted players in part-exchange-which effectively massively reduces the price of the player sold, taking into account the wages and valuation for these unwanted footballers. Thus £12 million for Jordan Rhodes in cash should become £15 million in cash if we have to accept Danny Graham(a very good NON_GOALSCORING centre-forward) at the end of his career.

In other words a lot less to offer than Chris Brown who can at least run about a bit to defend a lead.
