    Avatars and new format

I can't see anyone's avatar any longer. Is that the same for everyone or is there some setting I can alter?

This is all hard to believe, Alf! Aren't technology and software supposed to get BETTER with time?

I have now worked out that you can see avatars IF you click on usernames, but the site, as it is now, looks half-finished or undeveloped to me. Ridiculous when you consider how long it's been in operation. I can't even see who's on-line at any given time.

The other thing is the variable speed, in terms of bringing up a particular thread. Sometimes it's fine; at others, it takes so long that a "timed out" message appears. And it's not my end, because at the same time, I can get instant access to other sites. I often read the comments on Roverstalk, for example, and there is never a problem there.
