Motherwell 5 Aberdeen 6
A reversal on Saturday would do nicely... - view external link
Not optimistic we will score 6 goals, maybe we could get six shots on target and maybe 2 goals. Don't want to set the bar to high!
That has to be one of the most galling and embarrassing nights in our history and the fact that some of our support still revere that game "cos it was a great spectacle" is indicative of the small time mentality that we are riddled with as a club.
Before that game Aberdeen had scored three goals all season, we were by this point past the first round of fixtures and they were a laughling stock and subject of ridicule, yet they roll into Fir Park, we bend over and they knock six past us. It was a totally unprofessional and shoddy display from what was an expensively assembled Motherwell side and I took nothing but disgust and embarrassment from it.

It must be a laugh a minute in your house LSM, take your point though.
It has its moments in my place.
I just believe that failure and defeat is not something to be celebrated and by doing so you only excuse and encourage it. Being a Motherwell fan you know you're probably going to lose more than you win, history tells you that, but that does not mean that we should shrug our shoulders and readily welcome or excuse defeat as I believe that as a club, we are and have been guilty of this for as long as I've followed Motherwell FC.
I agree completely, thats what makes Scotland the greatest losers at everything. We revel in being able to defeat ourselves or revel in the victimhood of bad luck as the Rugby result on Saturday displayed. We have a national charactaristic of always being ready to accept failure and get our excuses in early or when we fpuck up we always see the positives in it. In reality we should try to raise a generation where being second or the nearly men has absolutely zero merit. Maybe as a nation once we shed the utterly depressing acceptance of mediocrity we might start to breed winners.
Look on the possible bright side ...
McGhee wants to put himself in the shop window for a bigger club - McInnes is under a bit of pressure as the wheels have come off a bit up Pittodrie way - We go there and win - McInnes gets the bullet - McGhee fekks off to Aberdeen - Hey Presto, we all win !
5hit; forgot about the bit where Craig Broon comes back to FP (wee bar5tard)!
