    OT CHRISTMAS?

Looking back to my Anglo Saxon roots which of which I'm extremely proud ,I just wondered if anybody observes it as a Christian religious festival still?
To me it is still one of the great pagan Mid Winter Feasts!

We do. I can't state unequivocally that I am a Christian, but my Wife certainly is. I've never discussed it with my Children 29/32, but I don't believe that they are practicing Christians. However it is our tradition, that on Christmas Day, that we will all 4 go to our locaL Church, where my Wife is a member and partake in the Christmas Day service.

    re: OT CHRISTMAS?

For me Christmas is just an holiday and time off work. I like the quiet life and don't celebrate Christmas. My three sisters do, mainly down to the kids. The eldest sister is a practising Christian and goes to church a couple of times a week. My parents just have a quiet Christmas lunch, often made up with visits from my sisters and the grandchildren.

We celebrate Christmas as a Christian holiday(Holy Day), attend church and we also give gifts...but, we do sacrifice a roasted turkey to our pagan gods about supper time!

Christmas yes, religous holiday no. We celebrate December the 25th as our ancestors thousands of years ago would have celebrated it before the bible punchers hi-jacked it. Well with a few differences of course.

    Not many though!

Pretty much how I see it Woody.
Before CHRISTmas our ancestors had been observing a time of feasting during the Midwinter period well before the advent of the Christian version!

Last Christmas, ( not the Wham Xmas hit)...we as a family had an agreed "no present buying" Christmas.

It was nicer and somehow better, probably the best Christmas Day together, ever.

I know the enemy is taking christmas seriously this year because she has built a festive
wicker man in the back yard.

    Can't imagine who it's for. :-?
