Whos decision was it to play the game in Blackpool surely as a home tie somewhere nearer would have suited the fans much better.

Welcome to the board Jimmy, there's not that many places nearer, the biggest mistake was playing somewhere that had been played on 24 hours earlier.

It's right Jimmy, there aren't many grounds nearer that fulfill league standards/demands. The old Darlington ground is now used for rugby, we've played at Preston and Blackburn and used Newcastle's training facilities. Newcastle is as near as anywhere and there was a chance of playing a game there over Christmas, but the police said that they couldn't cover it. We've been dependent on charity and offers and it's worked very well so far.

New turf's going down yesterday and today and we should be back playing at Brunton Park on the 23rd of this month, though the buildings won't all be finished and the teams may have to change in portakabins.

    Still, mustn't moan, eh?
