But you weren't in our Town End for long
Best supporters in the land....I'm sure you all have stories when the red and white hordes turned up at your ground.....my main memories are when we were relegated at Man City we took 12,000 fans who were all over Maine Road.
Cardiff away 15,000 made their way to Ninian Park, Wimbledon at Selhurst Park another great following of 15,000 to see us relegated these are just a few of the games when the Roker Army vitually took over grounds that was before all ticket games....renowned for friendliness and sportsmanship.
But you weren't in our Town End for long
The only thing that I remember about Sunderland is me and my mates getting in to the wrong end of Roker park in 1970 or 71. It was probably the only time I appreciated a police escort out of a ground back to the station! Talk about friendliness and sportsmanship FFS!
Was that the 3-3 draw ? there were four or five Millwall in our end me and me mates were just chatting to them canny lads....think Derek Posse was playing, Millwall had a good team then....the Den was very welcoming in those daysOriginally Posted by frenchlion
