Do we trust him with the funds?

Well, we have to give him that chance, although I must admit I have begun to have reservations.
I can see that he tried to shore us up this season by going for players he already knew and formerly successful PL players who were out of favour at their clubs.
The trouble is, most of the newcomers look no better than the players they've replaced. Also, the switch of style he introduced simply didn't work.
His presentation of himself as someone putting the train back on the tracks after a wreck now looks rather foolish.
Having said that, he hasn't been much luckier than Bowyer with the breaks that have an impact on results - refereeing, injuries, hitting the woodwork, etc.
We are speculating elsewhere about the likelihood of Venky's funding him adequately in May. If they DO, he must be given a chance to produce the results.

I'd certainly like to see mansell get a chance. That's the one position you can experiment in without disrupting the team too much. Midfielder and defenders however might be a bit too risky.

Well, I'm only suggesting three, two of them up front. I agree that there is nothing much wrong with the defence. To be honest, any combination of Marshall, Lowe, Duffy, Hanley, Kilgallon, Ward and Spurr is reasonably solid at the back. It's a pity we don't have the same comfort-zone in other regions of the field!
I firmly believe we MUST get Marshall playing further forward.
You say changes are "too risky". Well, I could accept that more if we were disrupting a SUCCESSFUL combination!

Sounds bang on,Aucks. Our relatively good goals average(for our position in the League)is purely due to reasonable defending.

I wonder whether Lamberts refusal to play any youngsters is because he thinks it weakens his bargaining position for cash from Venkys ?
