I mentioned it.
It was obvious
Even Steve Bruce said we played in to their hands....then Darren wassall says there was nothing wrong with the tactics!!
Not many people are pointing out the obvious tactical error from Saturday, which was playing long ball?
How many of the following players are over six foot? Diame, Huddlestone, Livermore, Davies, Dawson.
Now how many of these players are over six foot? Martin, Russell, Ince, Bryson, Hughes, Johnson.
I'll give you a clue, Hull have a lot more. So who's going to win the ball more often when every time a Derby defender is hoofing the ball towards Martin (who himself might be over six foot but struggles to win headers)?
If Derby had played the ball on the ground then we'd have destroyed a slow Hull team but DW wanted to play the route one football that he prefers.
Carrying on, Butterfield playing instead of Johnson would have been better for playing the ball on the floor instead of an unfit and less talented Johnson.

Wassall's stubbornness and arrogance is the second worst thing about him. The first being his managerial ability.
Agreed the tactics were bad, but good tactics don't stop players from being bottlers. This current Derby team is done for, end of story.

I thought about that too Swale!!!
Me too...but have to admit, he had a point about Weimann ;-)
Yes this was very frustrating, especially as Hughes kept offering himself for an easy pass; but Keogh / Shackell opted to pass to the other, to hoof cross field, obviously rehe****d tactic. Sayng that, Johnson is pretty handy with his head, just a shame he's poor with his feet.
At the time the league was split into the top five and then the rest. Sheff Wed have really come on recently and fair play to them, they're proving me wrong. Although I still feel that whoever Wednesday play, will be in the Premier League net season. If it's Hull then I hope I'm wrong because I'd like to see Wednesday in the Prem.Originally Posted by swaledale
