Even with a turnover of 11 million we could still be losing money
The guy's obsessed with us!
"Who’d have thought Rotherham would be so alluring?
THE gulf between English league football and Scottish league football has always been wide, in terms of the money sloshing around, the calibre of the players and the attendances. But it is surely wider now than ever before.
Take this example. Imagine that a manager of Manchester City or Chelsea decided that he wished for a new challenge and had just been afforded an opportunity that was simply “too good to turn down”. Not at Barcelona or Bayern, nor still at Arsenal. Nope, the irresistible offer had come from Rotherham United, a tiny club marooned perpetually in the bottom quadrant of the Championship, apart from when relegation rears its head, and with an average attendance that would fill a quarter of one stand at his current club. People would look askance at such a decision, I think.

Not bothered about him having an opinion but he should get his facts correct. Rotherham had a higher average attendance last season than Hibs, 10027 vs 9339. hardly one quarter of one stand, unless Easter Road now has a capacity of 160000.
Hibs average attendances
Last 4 seasons
2015/2016 9,291 45%
2014/2015 10,170 50%
2013/2014 11,028 54%
2012/2013 10,489 51%
Capacity 20,421
Rotherhams' average attendances
last 4 seasons :
2015/16. 10,025 83%
2014/15. 10,240 85%
2013/14. 8,450 70%
2012/13. 7,954 66%
Capacity 12,021
Above are attendances followed by the percentage of capacity of the ground.
As you say, never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
The quarter of a stand comment was referring to the likes of man city, arsenal, bayern munich and barcelona that he was talking about.
In comparison to staying at Hibs, Rotherham is too good an offer to turn down for Stubbs. Coming to Rotherham allows Stubbs to challenge himself against newcastle, villa, leeds, wednesday, derby, norwich, brighton, etc to further his career. Whereas staying at Hibs would have given him the chance to play 2 or 3 rounds in europe against some part time players from Iceland and then have the prospect of playing Alloa, Livingston and Dumbarton.
IF he can get Rotherham into the top 15 or so then bigger teams than Rotherham will be looking at him and that's what Stubbs wants.
Meeow........after reading that article you would think we had signed the anti-Christ as manager.
Rod Liddle is a Millwall fan. Still hurting from "Enjoy, League One , son"?
that explains it then him being a miserly sour graped millwall fan. write about your own club and it moronic fan base before commenting on us you southern loser
Rod Liddle does though write some good stuff
If you re- read the O/P you will see that the quarter of a stand comment clearly states " At his current club ". His current club at that time being Hibs.Originally Posted by tivoliman415783
