Im not a fan of the labour party (voted conservatives last time for the euro vote), but after the referendum count yesterday and when everybody was being interviewed regarding the result ,Jeremy's was the only one who looked like he knew why and how the British public had voted to leave..honestly expected him to lamblast the voting result ,kudos to him for respecting the result.
Another version of Michael Foot and he didnt last very long either, trouble is there is no one to replace him.
Andy Burnham must be worth a shout.
Wind up about voting tory? if so, fair enough, if not, well, we all know who to blame ultimately for just about every issue we have in this country, don't we.
Here's the thing that gets me with Corbyn, i think he's a very honourable bloke who is a breath of fresh air in terms of his principles(most of which i agree with) BUT he just has to listen and learn about what's happening to all the core Labour support across the country and their concerns and take up the fight against both the tories and more pressingly Ukip....
One more thing, i know he's not a suit wearing type, but here's the only time i would agree with Cameron, get some money spent Jezza and employ a tailor to fit you up in a sharp suit or two.!!!
Yes like Foot a very honest and principled politician, but also like Foot he looks like a scruff and you could put him an evening suit and he would still look the same, nobody listens to what he says and half the time the Tory lot poke fun at him .Its too late the damage is done,he doesnt command any respect from most labour voters, public opinion is against him and if the labour party is not careful they will lose more voters to UKIP and other fringe parties. Some people are born and destined for greatness but unfortunately Mr Corbyn is not one of them.
The thing with Corbyn is the Unions and rank and file labour members think the sun shines out of his arse and even if there is a leadership contest he will be voted back in probably with just as strong a mandate as he did last time.
Major problem is that the above groupings only form a small minority of the electorate, and as a result this transfers into no chance of wining the next election.
To be successful labour need to regain Scotland and to win the marginal seats in the South of England, neither of which is going to happen with Corbyn in charge as he is considered a joke in these areas.
If he survives the latest turmoil in the labour party, as Kempo would say lump on the Tories winning the next election, assuming you can find a bookie who is stupid enough to accept your bet.
I don't get this, didn't a record number of people join the Labour Party because of him?
I would have thought he is in touch with old Labour as much as new due to his beliefs.
My father in law (and many of an older generation) hate him which I don't understand. Surely, people in a town like ours, which has been stripped down to its bones, would be championing this man.
Perhaps that's why I'm not a politician as I just don't get it.
