Competitive football returns to Palmerston tomorrow evening ( Tuesday ) when Queens play Airdrieonians in the Betfred League Cup . Should be a tricky game what with them being full time this season . It'll also see the return of former players Iain Russell and Ryan Conroy . Hope they both get a good reception as I'd be deeply embarrassed if anyone booed them . We all know what to expect with Beany with his antics but he'll be a real threat as will any freekicks Conroy gets near the Queens goal

Another ex - Queens man Mark Fitzpatrick who played in our win over The Jags in the Challenge Cup also plays for the Diamonds
but got injured last Saturday I believe.

This will be a stiffer test than Saturday even with Queens being at home.If we play with the same 4 4 2 set up though, we should get the goals required to beat the diamonds.

Wouldn't boo him but have to say I have no liking for Conroy at all. I can tolerate those without much technique that try like hell but not those gifted that don't try a leg. I'll let you guess which category Conroy comes in at.

It would be a bit harsh dropping Pickard after scoring on Saturday but he'll need to cool the jets a bit . Loves a tackle and was lucky not to see red against Q.P.

After a promising start and scoring the goal of the season against Annan Conroy faded fast . We all know what Iain Russell is capable of and wouldn't be surprised if he scores against us which he did several times when playing for Livi

Iain Russell was his usual self last night . Constant moaning to the referee and spending the majority of the game on his arse .
