Good Season Ahead, it's all taking shape nicely

Good week for us positives.

Couple of good signings as predicted and still more to come. I hope we can all now applaud the patience and yet steely tenacity of AS and TS who have shown, against a backdrop of despot pundits on some social media sites more or less predicting our eternal demise, the ability to rise above the noise.

This is not a maggot by the way, but I expect a few nibbles

You will always get a few moans that we didn't get 14 strikers and should have over spent on players. We have what we have. Simples.
Still 2 week before season starts and 7 week of buy/loan window

The loan market may prove more exciting. AS I hope, will make good use of this

Strikers are difficult to find at what we want to pay,but we have Halford as a stop gap.Stubbs has shown to be very astute and may get one next week.

Expecting 2 coming in on loan, possibly in the next ten days.
Patience is a virtue.
Really looking forward to kick off and I reckon we will do better than a lot of people expect.

If you went yesterday it was encouraging. There's no width to the side. Right hand side Kelly doesn't get forward, Forde doesn't look a winger. Left hand side Mattock is our only outlet. Kelly played ok be better if he had G Ward in front of him. Broadfoot was the star player. Wood did ok he can do a job in this league but we need abit more pace in centre defence. Midfield its who plays, somebody has got to miss out. Foster-Caskey was impressed with him, Frecks just tired. He was good up till then. We've got Vaulks to come in + Halford & Smallwood.

Up front to lightweight. Need some height & strength.

Gwru, we all know you don't like Kelly for some strange reason but he had an excellent game yesterday and was our best defender alongside Broadfoot.
How can you say Forde doesn't look like a winger based on one game and a friendly at that. Admittedly he gave the ball away a few times in the first half but give the lad a chance and maybe we'll see what he can do when AS has got the playing formation fully sorted.
I do agree however, that we need more options up front, Yates and Ward both did well but an additional powerful striker plus a mobile one would be nice if AS can find them.
Irons in the fire apparently so let's hope something happens next week.
