I thought he was in with a shout for Man of the Match yesterday. His touch and passing were good. Kelly might not get a game at right back based on that performance.

Didn't go yesterday so it's interesting to read comments about Thorpe at RB. I rate him and think he has big potential but always saw him just in front of back 4. Perhaps then he is our next Gerry Forest? Wouldn't say no to that.

All the defensive players did ok even Thorpe, because it was a friendly sunderland didn't put much pressure on the back 4 in a competitive game it could be different story.

Agree with this. He looked OK going forward but decidedly dodgy when defending, was caught out of position on more than one occasion yesterday and pulled out of the **** by the centre backs. Nowhere near MoM for me.

I'm with gwru on this. Don't think Thorpe is remotely near Championship level. Couldn't get a game in lge 1 with Bradford.

I like Thorpe and he should get his chance but he certainly didn't put in a MoM performance as a right back yesterday.
