Has anybody else bought this? It's a great practical joke. You put a £5 note on this retractable string and when someone reaches for it you press the button and it disappears. Some people are so gullible they keep reaching for it time after time. You could I suppose replace the note with something even bigger like "I'm not afraid to break the million pound barrier to get the right players."

What's our wage budget for players? Pay a million for a player then add on £500,000 a season for wages. Then there's 20 odd other players to buy/pay. Say average wage is £5,000 a week multiply that by 20 that's £5 million a yr. As in the ad you Do the sums.

I think the original poster was asking why promise what we can't afford and the gwru was pointing out why we can't afford to do what TS appeared to promise.

Question is. Why promise it?

That's why this season less players in so we can up the wage bill.

I was trying to explain why we can't afford what certain posters think we can. Not what TS has never promised.

You're right gwru TS hasn't promised anything. In fact he has said that he is just the facilitator. By saying that he has distanced himself from the decision to buy any players.

I believe that he is at the point of finding a buyer! By just providing the funds and the manager backing out of a deal makes it easier for him at least at the face of things. His integrity is in tact.

He's a Millers legend! He's a millionaire business man.
