The last time I saw Derby at home to Carlisle was with 37999 other souls for a boring 0-0 draw on 26th April 1975. One of the best days of my life. Work it out

Last match of the season, Derby were Champions and Carlisle were rock bottom and got relegated, was also our highest attendance of the 74/75 season! Chelsea and Luton were the other relegated teams!

spot on, a lovely sunny day, the team were presented with the trophy before the game, played like a load of old grannies from what I recall, which was a shame because the 74-75 team IMO was the best team Derby ever had. 38,000 in that death trap of a ground, and the only time I ever sat in the A stand, which, on a sunny day after rain in the week stank of decaying wood and discarded cigar nub ends. Its one marker point for the end of the golden era, although I'd put that as Stoke away the following March.

You're right AF, 38,000 in the BBG!!! Good job H&S hadn't been invented, although I think the scent of decaying wood and fag ends might have been preferable to some of the aromas around today. Don't know what it is in modern football shirts, polyester or elastane I guess, but they didn't combine too well with middle aged overweight blokes sitting in the warmth of the East Stand last Saturday.
