Palmy PA system

I take it it went on the blink by halftime today. As we headed for another glorious triumph over the self-proclaimed giants of this league, I was a little worried that the dreaded Elf and Safety might get in the way as the polis must regard a working PA as an essential in allowing the game to go ahead. Fortunately the matter didn't arise.

On the subject of PA, the club does have a radio mike for announcements made from the pitch, does it? Just wondering.

The poor rain drenched pen takers, of course, couldn't get any intro, if the system was down and a radio mike would have been useless anyway.

The PA system at Palmy is in need of overhaul/replacing and an ideal system will be expensive - I feel sorry for Alex who has to fight a losing battle with poor equipment.

Thanks for the reply. I saw that the weather had knackered the PA on a post on P&B.

I usually arrive at Palmy within 5 mins of KO. i was wondering if the emergency announcement sound is broadcast every week. Can't ever remember hearing it.
I am not an Elf and Safety nut, just curious.

Ironically the ancient Palmy PA system is very difficult to hear for the fans who stand at the Police Box ! but no doubt it will be updated when the equally long past its sell buy day main stand gets refurbished / knocked down / rebuilt.
