    Team GB football team

After watching last nights final between Brazil and Germany with Neymar scoring the winning penalty I though what a shame we didn't have a team in the football like we did in London. Hopefully we will in Tokyo 2020
What do you guys think ?

Personally I think the name 'Scotland' should be confined to the dustbin of history, & we become 'Far North Britain'. It's the only way.

The cyberbritnats would happily see the Scotland international team abolished so England can enter a team into an under-23 competition once every 4 years. Desperate desperate stuff.

OK I'll bite. Any GB olympic would be seen by UEFA as a chance to end the four nations football teams. And that's the danger a united team would pose to the continued independent existence of the four countries is another powerful argument against it. Our national football team, even when playing poorly, (is there any other way) is one of our most visible symbols of national identity, as is the case with England and Wales. N Ireland would love it as it would increase the feeling of Britishness. Before the usual suspect have a go at me my view on this is purely fitba and not political

We had a GB football team at the London Olympics and UEFA hasn't ended the four nations football teams. As you know I am a big supporter of the Scottish national team but think having a team GB at the Olympics is a great thing.

The old one about FIFA/UEFA ending the 4 home nations is a red herring. Apparently the problem is that they are not independent nation states at the UN, which is apparently the standard they use.

However, the more alert among you will have observed FIFA have admitted quite a few non UN members over the last 20/30 years. I’m sure you can all name some, I’ll leave it to you.

Nope. No idea. Struggling to care if I'm honest...
