Plaudits are great feedback and lift and boost morale but a manager cannot live off plaudits he simply has to deliver....I truly hope what Stubbs states will come true not only for him as he must be under so much pressure but for morale boosting confidence for the team and the fans....,

I'll give him six more games..... still bottom then and he's simply got to go while there's still a chance to turn around our poor start... new team or not..

Hope we can keep Danny Ward fit while January. Broadfoot back ASAP.

Next 2 away games I'd play 1 up front D Ward. Taylor Adeyemi or Halford Frecks Vaulks Newell across the middle.

Brin, I completely agree with your sentiments.
No matter how you look at this we have lost our last 4 games and two of them were against teams at the bottom of the table.
It's all very well saying the team has performed better in the last two games but the reality is they still lost and you have to wonder whether they can actually improve beyond the standards achieved in those games.
It's also fair to ask whether the players merely raised their games against better opposition and will slip back to lesser standards in due course.
We have a particularly tough run of fixtures this month and they could well determine Stubbs's future.
If he gets a couple of wins he can realistically claim the team has turned a corner but if this run of defeats continues I think he'll be gone.
    Over to you Mr Stubbs.

Mellow good point there about raising their game against bigger teams for as sure eggs are eggs had they played at the same tempo against Cardiff and Blackburn like they did against Newcastle we wouldn't have lost....Question is why only turn it on against bigger teams?

Before anyone jumps in with X was missing from the team there's enough in the team to deliver and it proved that even after Adeyami went off....

I agree Brin results have to improve.

I do wonder though if the fans will also turn up for the lesser games and create some sort of atmosphere because our so called support in terms of noise is embarrassing.

It's been proved time after time that teams will raise their standards against the 'bigger' teams, which we have, and while correct about ultimate results, which AS readily admits, the improvement has been, shall i say incremental.., it's there for all to see, whether that turns into points is yet to be seen, but i don't think AS is one to be crossed and is getting the team to where he wants it, and hopefully we will start to climb that table, i don't think anyone else can do anyhting different so keep with AS, in my opinion.

I have over the last few months stated that fitness and mentality were an issue. I have noticed that both have imoroved in the last 2 games. What needs to happen now is that when Taylor, who is improving every game, goes down the wing more than Ward is waiting for the cross. Tough games ahead but I think that AS should at least get until December/January because we are getting better. FACT!

What 'RAFA' says....he knows more about football than I do....I hope he's right....

It's better hitting bottom now - strangely - at this time of season than the last eleven games - panic sets in then and the pressure grows. We're not cut adrift and there are a lot of points to play for.

Now the players (if they've got any pride) will feel hurt and want to get up that league. I'm sure the manager has now pigeon holed his players and knows what he can ask of them - making team / system selection an educated decision and not an educated guess !

From now on - ( well I'll stick with 15 games ) Alan Stubbs honeymoon will be over and decisions will be his alone because he should at that time have had time to influence the players and their roles within whatever system HE wants to play.

The manager gets the plaudits and he gets the pressure....I for one think he's got what it takes.....I wish him good luck - we'll a lot better luck than we've had so far - ( and better referee's )

I've given up hoping for better referees.
