Anybody (of a certain age) think that Bannan is a Tommy Craig in midfield? Both tenacious Scottish midfielders.
Craig would be in my all time favourite Wednesday team.

Never saw Tommy, but defo agree on some fine Scottish quality in Barry (and Ross Wallace)
Such a pleasure to watch a footballer so tactically aware as Barry Bannon...he seems to have time aplenty, superb close control skill...we just seem to click when he's on the pitch.

There are similarities, Bannan though, in my view, is a much better player...Tommy was great for us in a poor side, maybe that held him back a bit but Bannan has a real football brain on him, very intelligent footballer....he reminds me more of Archie Gemmill than Tommy Craig.Originally Posted by ericwas

he was really missed when injured.
