O/T Anyone been watching Victoria on Sunday nights?

Not a royalist by a long mark however I am somewhat enjoying this period drama….the settings the costumes etc…
shows how the aristocracy of the English *cough* Germans…. ruled the throne ….

I trust it has been produced to be as authentic as possible as these producers sometimes run amok with their scripts.

The yanks will love this as they did Downton Abbey…..they are so envious of our heritage and history….

NB. CAM…are you receiving this programme yet over the pond?

Not watched it, but it can't be historically factual can it, because the lead actress is an absolute stunner, and Queen Victoria, well, wasn't...

Yes Brin, most was filmed at Castle Howard but some smaller scenes ( and some of second series) were filmed at Wentworth Woodhouse.

I was there at one of the days they picked, the catering vans and entourage support were parked in the garden centre car park and the filming in front of the house. Had a quick chat to one of the minor part actresses ( playing one of the kitchen maids) she told me that filming was costing a small fortune and behind schedule for some scenes due to having to get "matching weather" so they didn't get continuity problems.

I simply refuse to watch anything to do with royalty .

Respect everyone's view and all that but servants bowing to a fellow man or women makes my blood boil and it still goes on today .

A republic can't come quick enough , set of parasite's the fecking lot of em .

I love pomp and pageantry, it makes me proud.

CA, We can give you access to programmes like that if you're interested.
Mrs Sota and I can watch anything on UK TV for 16 quid a month.
We watch The Level , Celeb Juice, The Five, The Chase, all Sky Sports and BT Sports etc

A week in Hawaii should do the trick...just kidding.
