Mine would be Big Sam, but i don't think it will happen. I wouldn't be too displeased if either Nigel Pearson or Marco Silva got the job.
Sam Allardyce
Rob Edwards
Nigel Pearson
Marco Silva
Vitor Pereira
Andre Villas-Boas
Tim Sherwood
Dougie Freedman
Paul Ince
One That's Not Listed Above
Who would your preferred choice be, plenty of rumoured candidates.
Mine would be Big Sam, but i don't think it will happen. I wouldn't be too displeased if either Nigel Pearson or Marco Silva got the job.
Gone for dingle Allardyce also.
According to Sky Sports, when asked about the vacant job his reply was, "not at the moment" but you never know what to believe.
If the poll was 'who do you think' instead of a preference I would opt for none of the above.
Worryingly, I can see another Zenga-esque appointment.
#1 choice has gotta be Big Sam. Has gotten out of the division multiple times. He's not going to make us a powerhouse or challenge for Europe or anything like that IMO. But he can get us to the Prem and stabilize our position there.
The other English candidates touted for the job don't impress me at all. Sherwood has proven absolutely nothing. Dougie Freedman & Paul Ince would do nothing here. Nigel Pearson leaves everybody unhappy when he leaves. And Rob Edwards is inexperienced.
Marco Silva and Victor Pereira have good records, but have not coached in England. And they've coached mostly at clubs that are one of the biggest in their domestic leagues. The Championship is a league of parity. Anybody can beat anybody on a given day. In Portugal, Porto can play at 80% effort and still beat most of the bottom half clubs. It'd be a concern of mine. But those guys seem to play attractive footy and have had success.
My second vote would be for AVB. He has experience at Chelsea and Tottenham, so he knows the English game and the English press. His tenure at Chelsea was uneven but thought he was hard done by at White Hart Lane. Got much more crap from fans and media than he deserved IMO. Had their best winning % for a manager in a long time IIRC.
Though AVB would be my second choice, I don't think he's a realistic one. Porto, Chelsea, Tottenham, Zenit, Wolves......One of those is not like the others. Maybe 40 years ago, but not in the current scope of footy. He would have to make Wolves into a club reaching for European football. Which he might want as a challenge with the backing of Fosun. But it hardly seems likely.
It should be anyone except Big Sam, he has dragged England's name through
,
the mud. Here is a man who was being paid £3 million a year to manage England but that was not enough
He is a disgrace and a traitor Wolves deserve better.

If the article on sky sports website is to be believed then it's a three horse race. Paul Lambert, Nigel Pearson or Tim Sherwood.
I wouldn't mind one of the first two, but not Tim Sherwood.

I'm not a big fan of any of those. Lambert played some very uninspiring footy at Villa. Nobody liked watching them. He's got his Norwich tenure to point to. Blackburn tenure was a failure. But I think we could assume that that has more to do with Blackburn than Lambert. I'd opt for him out of the three. Sherwood proven nothing. Pearson a major potential headache waiting to happen. And we don't need him taking any vacations to China with his son.
Has to be big Sam. If not then out of that list I like Tim Sherwood.
What's Sven doing these days?!
Recently heard someone mention Curbishley !!! By saying this I realise I risk ridicule, but if he was available and interested, I'd take him ahead of Sam and the rest of them on that list. I still remember how, with comparatively limited resources, he kept Charlton competitive in the 'Prem' for a number of years.
