What is this obsession with our training facilities?

So on Saturday, just as the red card was shown to Odemthingy, I thought to myself, if only we had better training facilities, he would not have got sent off.

As Charlie Taylor scampered down the wing with Brown stood hands on hips watching him make a fool of Kelly, i was again thinking, if only we had better training facilities.

As Doukara ghosted unmarked into the box to slot home the easiest goal he will ever score, again I thought, that will be the training facilities.

The reason we are crap is nothing to do with the facilities!! Shock, horror I hear you all say.

What it has a lot to do with is mental strength, determination, application and motivation and the fact that our club lacks all 4.

Now jacket has gone, we need someone in that understands Rotherham United. He needs to understand the club and the fans, he needs to understand the culture and what we expect from our team.

Personally, dont want us to play this tippy - tappy good football crap, I want blood, sweat, mud and tears. I applaud a full-back putting a winger into the stand more than I do a deft touch in midfield.

Time to bring in some of the previous back-to-back promotion squad to take the club forwards, characters such as Barker, Branston, Lee, Watson, MacIntosh and Warne. Players that fought to the end and never gave-up, players who knew what Rotherham United were. Add a certain unemployed Mr Moore as director of football and we can establish a coaching team and infrastructure to take us forwards.

Please dont appoint another god-awful journeyman. Redfearn, Stubbs & Jacket were all awful, didnt care about the club or the fans. None of them motivated the fans or the players.

Time to bring some of our own back with the next appointment.

Lets be clear, we are already down, so we need to give ourselves the best chance in L1 next season, because at present, with the current squad we are in for another relegation battle..

I hope you have voted correctly then - Ronnie, Brecks, Branno and of course Warney. Warney will be there forever as long as he doesn't become manager. If he does he will become toast

I agree. Football today is for women. You've either got it or you haven't. Ronnie O'Sullivan said that yesterday the cream will come to the top doesn't matter what format they play.

In our case not so much cream but Managers, players made of the right stuff to compete at this level.

If you genuinely believe that Championship players want to train on a North East Counties team pitch and get changed in metal storage containers, then you are completely out of touch with football in the modern world

gm gm cause they're pampered. Right players will train anywhere within reason. Can't be that bad.

Pete Waller. Ronnie & Brecks have had there day. I agree bring our own in. Richie Barker with Branston till end of the season. With Paul Warne of cause.

It's like going to a restaurant and expecting them to plate up great food when they've cooked in on a camping stove.

If there wasn't a benefit to the training facilities then why have so many clubs invested in them.

The thing is our players will be the same standard as they've always been. The problem we have is that every other club has advanced.

Think they could do a Warnock gwru. Doesn't matter to me what position they take but a combination of Ronnie and Brecks with Branno and Warney will have the Warnock effect I reckon.

No matter what though I would rather go back to the rough and tumble, get stuck in type of play. Forget 442, 433, 352, 451 tactics. Get players who get dirty and show grit.

The thing about the training ground isn't about the pitches at all, they're fine, the problem is the 'gym' facilities and the physio facilities, they will have a negative effect, but to what degree?

of cause they don't but I doubt we blind folded them when showing them around before they signed the dotted lines.
They knew what it was like and have to put up with it until we get better.
They do have sessions at the gym.
